Mechanical Engineering Lead

Position Responsibilities
. b8 m1 Q/ [9 xDesign of complex electro-mechanical assemblies & systems including aluminum chassis design, heatsink design, PCB packaging Perform thermal and strength FEA analysis and prepare reports on results Perform laboratory verification testing of electro-mechanical assemblies, including vibration, shock, and thermal testing Create production drawings for machined parts, plastic injection molded parts, sheet metal fabrication, mechanical sub-assemblies, PCB fabrication, PCB assemblies and associated parts lists Management of the mechanical engineering functions to facilitate the design, integration, verification, and production transfer of avionics hardware.
- C$ U0 _, w2 R4 s/ e* i9 bWork with program management to develops cost and schedule baselines and targets and to ensure programs are staffed with the appropriate engineering personnel
% w2 w4 Z6 Y O6 j2 G0 `( fEnsure all designs meet both internal and customer requirements and design standards.) y8 N5 d5 l5 H1 @5 }* w
Identify issues and risks, develop corresponding mitigation/action plans, and track to closure+ @4 x, [# g8 a9 l
Provide guidance and direction to the mechanical engineering personnel
5 ?5 c7 R9 g$ t0 N5 T5 CWork with the sales team to develop engineering input to proposals including technical, cost, schedule, and risk definition to meet customer needs.
8 a+ X C' e5 D! w3 ICoaching, mentoring, and development of engineering personnel including training, performance evaluation reviews, and hiring/termination recommendations

7 X3 p( b* {9 s n. REssential Skills and Experience
3 [* N. G3 E, }2 {1 Z% |+ D. c1 o15 - 20 Years of aerospace electro-mechanical design and development experience including knowledge of electronics mechanical design practices and procedures 5 m% k' r) C9 T
Knowledge of IPC Standards for the design and manufacturing of electronics assemblies.5 _0 W7 o9 }! l7 i
Knowledge of ASME Y14.100-2000 & Y14.5-1994 drawing requirements.8 i( ?! q- V3 S4 M; c
Knowledge of industry & military specifications for materials, parts, and processes.3 F9 H6 _# J ?5 A& [3 R
Knowledge of various fabrication and assembly processes, including metal/plastics machining, plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication processes, brazing, welding, printed circuit board fabrication, printed circuit board assembly, and printed circuit board rework processes.
+ C) I/ e: a# ~6 A5 u+ q: [! mTechnical knowledge of Electronics Packaging, Printed Wiring Board Layouts, Thermal Analysis, Strength Analysis. z7 R# W0 ]* g* f: f9 F
Previous experience in the management of aerospace development programs including cost and schedule management
& T" }% T) p. j! NProven accomplishments in positions of leadership managing various levels of mechanical engineers+ r' p J6 e; W- B: ?; a8 [
Working knowledge mechanical design and simulation tools such as PADS, AutoCAD, Cosmos Design Star, AutoDesk Mechanical Simulation
8 j. ]- ?: ?- M1 l1 @Experience with Microsoft Office including Word Excel, Powerpoint and Project( b2 {& @" z2 w( D3 n+ D+ B
Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies
( X; G5 b3 r2 z0 RPrevious experience in RTCA/DO-160 processes and FAA Certification
